Reiki is a very gentle Japanese therapy which reduces stress and promotes relaxation and healing. A treatment, administered by the laying on of hands, feels wonderfully relaxing and flows through and around you. Reiki treats holistically the body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing and is suitable for all. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It is not dependant on belief or dogma and will work whether a person believes in it or not.

How Does Reiki Work?

Our life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings which can become disrupted so diminishing the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.

Reiki heals this disruption by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. In so doing, Reiki clears any negative energy and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

“Given my medical training I have never considered complementary therapies for any ailments, instead preferring conventional treatment or letting nature take its course. After a month had passed I became nearly immobile from a knee injury and was unable to weight-bear. A friend suggested I try Reiki and after my first session, which I found wonderfully relaxing, I was amazed to feel an immediate reduction in pain. During the second treatment one week later Gill mentioned, at the same moment that I felt movement within my knee, that something had radically shifted within my knee cavity. She then intuitively moved her hand to my lower leg which had started to become (temporarily) painful. I was again amazed, when, after the session I was able this time to completely bear weight with no attendant pain. One month later and it is as if I never had had this knee injury.”
